I think the difference is that more people here on the C&A forum who are interested in performance aren't interested in racing, and there's a world of difference between recreational performance riding, Clyde division racing, and high-performance racing.
As for weight related issues, I think the buck-thirty CAT-2 racers have just as many (if not more) weight concerns as us guys tipping the scales at twice their weight.
