i have a similar story, from last night though...
car honks, i tell car that i can take lane, car honks, yells racist epithets out window, i shout back (shouldn't have done that, but did), car rolls up until it's touching me, i place hand on hood, passenger gets out of car, rushes at me, pulls bike out from under me, throwing bike (road bike, superlight) over 1 lane of traffic into bushes. i call 911, 4 police cruisers (park police, not dc mpd) chase driver down and catch 'em.

unfortunately, cops get 4 different stories from me/driver/2 witnesses so it would be hard to press charges. but i have a police incident report and plan on taking driver to small claims court to replace bike with dented top tube.
