Ive been riding Alfine for a couple of years, quiet, reliable, easy. I would recommend it without hesitation.

How are you going to deal with chain tension? You will have to fit a chain tensioning device which negates many of the benefits of hub gears.

The rear brakes doesnt do very much and you already have some so I would not bother with coaster brakes.
