Thanks cc700, simple, or 'clean' was what i was going for.

I had the brake off the bike because i just bought a new brake setup (the last one was very 'rigged' up and barely worked) while at the same time switching to new peddels and straps. I was going to throw everything back on the bike and go out for some photos but i thought the biked looked a bit cleaner without the big chrome break / lever and the bulky straps.
So, i kept them off for the photos. I didn't take it off specifically for the photos (although thats what it seems..haha) just more already had them off, so i kept them off to keep the clean, simple look.
