I recently pulled the trigger on a BD Le Champion Ti with SRAM rival. I had read a lot of comments on line both good and bad and have to say I couldn't be more pleased with the bike. Comparing what you get and the cost versus what is available elsewhere this is a spectacular buy. I just started riding a bit again after somewhat of a layoff. This bike will be taking the place of a Dura Ace Serotta Atlanta lugged steel frame bike. I was originally looking to add a compact chain ring set up to my current bike but ultimately ended up buying the new Ti bike. The bike is very quick and handles like a dream. I cannot recommend the bike enough. Love the SRAM rival drivetrain and I really like the compact set up - lets just say that the low gears are a welcome addition and will keep me on the road.
I admit that I have been out of the bike world for a fair amount of time and am not familiar with modern frames and components so I really cannot compare it to modern carbon or Ti frames. But I can say this bike is a nice addition to my Serotta and my 1980s Guerciotti which I am currently in the process of restoring. I also cannot comment on BDs customer service because i haven't used them nor am I likely to do so.
