Thanks for all the replies, some great advise in here! It definitely makes sense to stay as loose as possible to let the bike play under me as it goes over the bumps.
I hadn't thought of the front tire bouncing up and losing contact, making locking it up with the brake much easier. It's definitely probable I was instinctively on the brakes a bit trying to maintain control (and still possible I just freaked out and grabbed the brake hard, although I like to think I wouldn't do that

).
It's possible I didn't straight over endo, but from how I landed I'm quite sure my body did something resembling a front flip. I hit first on the top/back of my shoulder and helmet (mostly shoulder I think), followed by my lower back then butt and feet, which were facing downhill. I didn't slide much. Not sure how I could land like that if my front tire washed out. But urbanknight may be right that I was just bucked off.
I think the main cause of the crash (besides hitting the bumps in the first place) was tensing up, both physically and mentally, when I went in and not staying calm and loose, adjust my line and continue on. And to i r yo's point, seems likely I looked at the bumps thinking "oh crap, don't go into those" then went right where I was looking.
Thanks again for the replies, very helpful.
