Cool well then I have used a 16 oz. rubber mallet in one hand and bracing the wheel with the other hand between my legs and have gotten fairly close on rim brake wheels, but I have not tried this with several inches of area to move. The rims lip is rounded so it shouldn't dig into the tires side wall, or if it's nicked hit it emery cloth or file lightly, so will not cut the tire. Also I have trid the pliers and crecent to straighten and have usually made more damage to the sidewall of the rim from scoring. Good luck
