It all depends on where you broke it.
I crashed and broke my pelvis (and sternum) warming up for the start of a century on Labor Day. I immediately got back on the bike and rode the century in 4:52. Never missed a day on the bike, but putting on a seat belt was an exercise in pain and I had to sleep on my back for about four weeks. Your mileage WILL vary. Again, it all depends on your particular break. Mine didn't affect the hip socket.
