Try shifting by pulling the bare wire away from the frame and if that works, it confirms my guess. If you have a barrel adjuster, simply turn it out until the FD functions correctly, Otherwise, loosen the pinch nut and pull the wire down a bit more.

Often even if you feel you've pulled out all the slack it isn't enough, so manually shift to the large chainring and let the chain hold the cage out there giving you a bit more room to work with, but now you have to remember to leave enough slack for it to shift back to the inner ring.
Like FB says, IF it was working before, you may not have tightened the cable enough to get it on the big ring. I always shift to the small ring before making this adjustment, then pull all the slack out of the cable before tightening the pinch bolt. Good luck.
