winter biking, one of my favorite subjects.
alls ya need is a bike. just something you don't care about rusting.
otherwise the salt build up is quick-its chemistry. the only chemistry i usually see.
fixed gear is ok in the winter, my humble non bike shop worker opinion.
single speed is ok, in my humble non bike shope worker opinion.
for gears the internal gear thingie is good. i have that on my snowbike.
me thinks many of us have too many bikes, including me. especially since i have a hard time keeping up with their health.
