Even though hills hate me, I still like to ride them whenever I can find them. My first real exposure to hills was on my first century this past June in the Brighton Michigan area for the Tour de Cure. I went from training on pretty much flat ground to some decent hills and it sure was an eye opener.
That reminds me of when I did Pelotonia last year. Most of the riders were from Columbus, and it is pretty flat there. There were a couple of really decent sized hills down in the Hocking Hills area, and I just watched all the wannabes, that somehow got around me. Explode on the hills, and one after another stop, and get off, and walk up. I passed probably 100 riders on the one really big hill. I guess I shouldn't have stopped for lunch, then they wouldn't of gotten around me. lol. We have some really fun riding down here. Needles to say, I was ready for everything encountered down south of CBUS.
