not quite sure of yer bent, but OK. 'course theres plenty of things you have to do to be a cyclist, or a driver, or someone walking and chewing gum concurrently. point being that KNOWING to put attention to things is part of considering a craft. not like kids think about their pedal stroke learning to ride-- you just ride and don't crash into things if you're lucky. but thinking about maintaining your bike, and preplanning routes and strategies aren't things that every cyclist does to keep from falling over- and that kinda eliminates the need for luck..

certainly not making an argument for racers... there's a lotta haphazard, brokedick gearjammers doing that, for sure-- but those weren't the cats who helped me along the way .
