But if you fold it all the way you can't roll it. I prefer to roll the bike all the way and decide if I need to fold it more once I'm on the train and can see how crowded it is.
Ironically most people want larger wheels for the road, but I think wheel size is far more important at rolling/trolley speed because you don't have any momentum. The gaps on the train platforms are so wide here that I've seen small children fall straight through. I'd rather use rollerblade wheels on the road on rollerblades than to trolley around a Brompton.
All I was saying about vacuum cleaners is that they tend to get snagged when they're rolled due to the small wheels and tight ground clearance.
Speaking for myself - my comments are founded on owning a Dahon and a couple Tikits as well as using Bromptons on multiple occasions. I've tried rolling the Dahon using the seatpost and the bars both of which are not remotely as easy as rolling a Tikit using the handle provided. Folding is not in the same league, neither is construction, design, handling while riding or fit for a larger rider.
If my Dahon was comparable to the Tikit I wouldn't be a Tikit owner.
I am not a tikit owner because when I tried it I didn't find it to be "in a different class" at all (and the same with the Brompton). In consideration of the real objective differences, I think it's fair to say that your and my comments alike are both founded more on personal taste (and perhaps body measurement) than the inherent advantages of either bike.
