It seems Bridgestone became cult-famous largely due to innovation and bucking the trend of the times...which ironically was done by adopting a "retro-grouch" philosophy. I don't know what might constitute the next Bridgestone, but it doesn't seem like it'd be along these same lines.

I'd be curious to see what the next major innovation (in bike philosophy, not bike gimmicks) might be.
