I have admired vintage Bianchi roadbikes, but only from a distance. Then I accidentally saw one for sale in my size on my local C-List about a week ago and it was as if a switch flipped on in my brain. The bike was a gorgeous, fully lugged, celeste, all Campagnolo roadbike, I am guessing late 70s. I stared at the pictures as tears welled up in my eyes, knowing that I wouldn't be able to come up with the cash before this thing got sold. And I was right: less than an hour later, the ad was gone. And I was foolish enough not to have downloaded the images or even remembered the model name. But having seen this bike for sale, the world is not the same. I'd like to sell my
Reynolds 531 Trek and find me a Bianchi just like the one I saw as my next vintage project. I know it's silly, but the heart wants what it wants.
So... could someone please educate me: where can I find some good information about the vintage models? My initial use of the popular search engine has not yielded satisfactory results. Are there any models and years that are particularly recommended? Any information is much appreciated!
