hey guys i'm new here and i have a couple questions about a bike i recently got. first off its a raleigh grand prix and from searching the forums its a nottingham england one and its a late 60s, early 70s model (blue/grey frame). anyways, my uncle gave it to me for free after i found it in his old shed. i'm pretty new to road bikes, but i've ridden mtb's and bmx for most of my life, and i'm trying to get back into to rehab a knee injury. anyway's i'm hoping to take this bike to my college next year to get around and just wanted to know how much i should expect to have it repaired to a ridable condition. the wheels look fine, the frame is rust free, the brakes work well but might need some adjustment, and the rear derailleur either needs to be repaired or replaced, i really don't know. should i take it to a local bike shop and have them have a look at it? and how much can i expect to have it repaired? or how hard with it be for myself to repair given i have no experience with bicycles but am pretty mechanically inclined? thanks and sorry for all the questions.
