So how long are those chain stays? I am considering building up a replacement for my Trek out of what turns out to be a Peugeot MTB frame of some sort from 1986. The chainstays are around 18 inches which seems pretty long. What I am unsure about is it seems like the top tube is actually shorter than my Trek, but that might be a good thing with the dropbars. It does have more relaxed geometry though. Here is a crappy pic of the frame mounted on some random wheels to assess the geometry. Its a 19 inch frame and I think we are about the same size so feedback would probably be pretty helpful.

Also this frame is so ugly that I think I will be "forced" to repaint it. I think its the touchup job in what looks alot like house paint (probably is) gone chaukly that I just can't stand. Of course the "Specialized" stickers on what is likely a Pug frame is ridiculous also.
