I'm curious what others think: If Keith does decide to lace up the hub, should he "prep" the hub in any way? For example, sanding the eroded areas smooth to reduce future wear on the spokes? Or best to preserve as much of the existing metal as possible? What about following GrayJay's advice about re-lacing in the opposite direction, but also adding spoke washers?
Yes, the rear exhibits the same thing, though not as severe. This is how I got them so I have no history.
I'd be interested in any opinions about what to do with them. One way or another, I hope to use these or find other DA7700 hubs...if I get cones and axles out of these they were worth it.
