Bikes: '10 BMC Pro Machine, 02 Fisher Sugar 2+

I started on a $1500.00 Fuji Team and being a tinkerer, upgraded and changed certain things over the course of the next year. After nearly a year, 4000 miles and 35 or so pounds, I moved to a BMC ProMachine that costs nearly 3Xs that. About the only reason I made the move is that the Pro Machine isn't being produced anymore and I thought I could score a good deal, which I did. Stock bike to stock bike (without wheels), I dropped about 3 1/2 pounds. What I've noticed in the first 200 miles on the BMC is that it is much stiffer under power than the Fuji, accelerates better, handles better, and climbs better (the Fuji has always been very rideable but twitchy). The Fuji is much more comfortable to ride and, while I never knew what the term really felt like before, vertically compliant than the BMC.

So why did I move? 1) Opportunity 2) After getting serious and losing the weight, I decided that I deserved it. 3) I love to climb and it does so beautifully.
