I like the cargo shorts over bibs for longer rides. I wish I could go for 40 or 50 mile rides with just shorts or regular street clothes, but I can't. The wicking clothing is a necessity for me, and padded shorts for anything over about 20 miles(my commute is 16.5 a day ,so that's not a big deal ,though by day 4 I can be getting a little tender). I get chafed shortly after that - never a good thing!
