any info is appreciated!
I suspect it may. I developed play in a Phil Wood bb used on a fixed gear bike in a bit over a year. Developed play in a replacement Sugino unit. I've had a Phil Wood bb on my regular road bike for five years with no issues. It could also have to do with periods when your chain tension is real tight. This puts stess on the BB.
