I'm on the verge of joining one of two clubs that are in my area. The closest one is a large nationwide chain, the other is a community fitness center. They're pretty comparable in cost, with the exception that the chain outfit has a joining incentive in the form of a gift card good for three $50 sessions with a PT. That's an extra cost option at the community center.
I've been invited by the chain club to come join their regular Monday evening spin class tonight to see how I like the place and the people. It'll be interesting to see what it's like. I was happy to see that their spin bikes have two-sided pedals so I can use my cleats.
