rust

I picked up a Panasonic NJS frame set a few months ago. It's about 5 years old and has been ridden pretty hard by the last couple owners throughout the winters.

Now, I don't care about paint chips and scratches, that's how bikes are supposed to look IMO. The problem is there's a little bit of surface rust on the head tube. Not a lot, just a little where paint has chipped off right around the weld.

I got a really good deal (panasonic frame set, dura ace headset and phil wood bb) for $300 and I want to make this last.

So, I'm riding a lot this Winter, last year I kind of wussed out. What do I need to do to make sure I don't destroy this frame/components? Grease the seat post, head set, stem clamp and just rub the bike down with a towel after a ride?

Not sure if this guy has been frame saved but the bike has already clearly seen some action so I don't think it would even make a difference at this point.

Thanks
