I usually don't win most of the auctions I bid on, but I get some (evil) satisfaction knowing that the person that won paid more than I was willing to pay. Last night I drove the price of a Mavic 501 rear hub from low $20s to $49! in the last minute (I really wanted that !@#$ hub). I have the best luck on items that have a poor/misspelled description. I just won some Lyotard #23 platform pedals because thay were listed as vintage toe clips...The only other way I win is if I bid far more than my cheapa$$ really wants to pay.
