In the last three years I've hit the deck riding solo several times. I average 60+ races a year and do a fair number of fast group rides. Haven't hit the deck there once in that time frame.

I'm a lot more focused when I'm hauling ass.

You have some hermetically sealed safety chamber you can steer him towards? He was a truck driver...do some risk assessment and you'll find that he was more likely to get hurt on the job than riding.
