If the OP really wants to get to the bottom of this I suggest he forgo the sandblaster, get some sandpaper and at least determine the serial number and make of dropouts. Beyond that, determine the correct size seat post, check the drive size cup for thread markings and if necessary remove the BB and test fit for thread standard.
