If you baby has belly problems look at what you are feeding him or what your wife is eating if she is nursing. The big culprits are gluten, dairy, and soy (in that order). Gluten is one of the toughest things for a body to digest. I would keep it out of his immature digestive system until after 12 months. That goes for your wife's diet too. It's hard, but you will notice a difference in his so called "colic".
A bottle of formula usually has enough difficult to digest gluten in it to make your digestive system cramp up, never mind the little guy. I love foods with gluten in them, but it's not meant for an infant.

In regard to riding - Really early or Really late in the day. That's all you got. Be happy you road bike already. If you enjoyed mountain biking you could kiss that good-bye for a while. Leaving from the garage is quicker start and return then driving to the trails. Now that my youngest is a little older I can squeeze some singletrack in.
