There is a large discussion of generic ebay carbon frames at one of the other road bike forums, and it is quite extensive. I think that some of the builds people have made look really excellent. I lust after an Orbea Orca, but it is well outside of my price range. So I'm debating buying a carbon fiber frame that has some of the same design elements and building it up with either Ultegra 6700, Sram Force or Campy Chorus- which I can do for about the same price as a name brand bike with Full 105.
That said, if I could get a Specialized Tarmac with 105, or a similar Giant Bike (TCR Advanced I think?) also with 105, I'd probably do that. There are some Kestrels available (RT800 and Talon's) with full 105 for about $2k which also seems pretty compelling.
