IMO, a rider gets used to the speed and once the handling is there, it's no biggie. I know several riders scared to descend our local mountain roads at 30 while I do it with one hand at 34 (the other holding a recorder). One hand at 40 is when it gets scary but with two, 45 isn't hard to handle and pretty common on our local rides.

I used the one hand at 34 in a recent video after a couple of riders/friends expressed concern about descending GMR just to prove it's not as bad as some make it out to be.

Once we hit 56 on our tandem, short 1 mile descent withut pedaling. Now that is scary. The bike is solid but the "what if" thoughts worry me when my wife is on board.
