I did try to get it to flex but wasn't able to get it to flex. Sprinted on it and no flex and there is a chain on it.

The end result with the chainline:


Would have had an awful chainline if I had put the chainring on the outside, think chainring 3/4" off, besides, it's not as close as the picture makes it seem.

Now back to the amusing gorilla pictures.
