And not to be an anal jerk, but the part that is circled is actually a rubber boot that is overtop of the adjuster. The boot itself will turn, so I don't want him thinking that he is actually adjusting something when he's not (should he decide to spin the rubber boot).

The boot of course, needs to be pulled back up the cable to expose the barrel adjuster.
