Big issues I've seen with Chinese reproductions are tolerances and materials. I worked in a shop once where the boss loved to go to those bargain tool sales. Nothing he came home with was worth a darn. He got a full set of drill bits that turned out to be chrome plated brass (wouldn't steel be cheaper?) and had to be thrown away and a set of wrenches that had been polished so hard that they didn't fit the bolts they were specified for. Still he kept going back.
Anyway, glad you are going through a reputable vendor. Like the newer cotter pins, the new spindles are frequently just inferior.
