Around February I was getting more into cycling and told her that I wanted to get a road bike. She was not happy. She felt that I was ungrateful and that I didn't appreciate the "new" bike she had just gotten me for Christmas. Between the end of December and February I put 500 miles on the hybrid. Finally, she gave in and let me get the road bike. A Giant OCR2 ($800). Luckily, I've managed to put 850 miles on this one so far this year. Now I want a Carbon Composite bike! She actually was ok with me getting it. I told here I would save up for it and get it sometime before or after the end of the year. So all I can say is that she now understands and is being very supportive. I haven't been able to get her to ride with me though.
If you like the way the OCR2 fits, test ride the CF Giant bikes.
