Help! My BB30 bearings are driving me insane.

The crankset that I purchased for my BB30 road frame uses BB30 compatible press in cups which hold the bb30 bearings outside of the BB so it's not a true BB30 crankset. Anyhoo I got the cups and the bearings installed and I went to install the crankset which is a campagnolo style connecting hirst joint with a 5mm hex key.

The problem came when I went to torque the bolt to connect the cranks together I forgot to adjust the preload ring on the NDS crankarm all the way out so I messed up the bearings that way (grinding). Damnit! So I get new bearings ordered then installed after this snafu and now since I know what I did wrong I'm ready to finally get this crankset installed with my new found knowledge.

Turns out the bearings are bad AGAIN. What the hell! I adjusted the preload ring all the way out and installed the crank with the spacers given but the cranks won't spin freely (the manual states the cranks should spin several revolutions freely). So I take off the cranks and inspect the bearings by rotating the inner race with my fingers and the left side is grinding.

Can anyone here please tell me what the hell I'm doing wrong? This is driving me nuts and is costing me a pretty penny. This should be a straight forward install yet I keep messing things up.

There are pictures of the cranks in question here: http://www.lightningbikes.com/Cranks%20of%20Carbon.htm
