Other then Bill Lind, Ray Lahood, Bush was into cycling I believe, and the one Republican that may have done more for our national parks than all democrats combined, Teddy Roosevelt. Peter Kinder comes to mind, he was also the point man for the tour of Missouri. Rick Perry of Texas is an avid cyclist even if he has not always supported every cycling bill that has crossed his desk. It would have been harder to find liberals that have done much more than talk. I could name one or two liberals that had a problem with personal responsibility while in the oval office and at least one that was willing to transport American Jobs out of the country but that is another story. And as a democrat he seemed to enjoy cigars and smoking indoors.
But I can name a very big liberal that has a carbon footprint bigger than most Americans. And that liberal makes money off of being green. Talking the talk but not walking the walk.
Like I said, make it political and if it is more than a cycling related issue you will lose a lot of support.
You did name conservatives who are into cycling (and that was one of the challenges). But not carfree and/or advocates for government support of carfree causes.
