Like everyone else already mentioned. Use the brushes for cassette, chain, components and stuff. Just just a terry cloth towel to clean the frame or something. Treat it as you would a car. You wouldn't Use wire brushes on your hood right? Just the brakes and wheels. Same thing here really.
