Thanks for the feedback. I know it isn't the most simple solution. I'm just exploring ideas here. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of having a brake cable going in your top cap.

SO two parts:
Buying a stem that I want? I am unaware of any BMX style stem that will accept a brake cable line and feed it into the steer tube. Are there any?

Are caliper brakes absolutely the only option?
I haven't played with cantilever brakes before but I was wondering if there would be some way to rig it so these Avid Shorty Cantilever Brakes would work. As in having the cables pop out of the hole?

I know that I'd have to find a fork that had brake mounts and a brake hole.

Just wondering what's possible.
