It's mostly the rims used, and some might argue that double butted spokes would be preferable. 2200 hubs are strong enough, but you can upgrade to tiagra or 105 for only a small premium, and enjoy a weight advantage and possibly better bearings.
Cheeep way to get the wheels you want is the wheelbuilder at universalcycles.com. they don't charge labor, and let you choose the rims/spokes/hubs you'd like. Send em to ya built. both the wheelsets i ordered from them were well-built.
