Ooo, noglider, do it! I love pics, and I love watching (and learning) from someone else's restoration. I like the elderly mixtes a lot, precisely because they don't look like my old K2 hybrid <shudder>, but they do look like the kind of bike that I thought I was buying all those years ago when I got the K2. I will say, Veloria's mixte is about 1000 times nicer than anything I ever wanted or expected to get, so it sort of vaults itself into a class of its own.
For what it's worth, Veloria, and I know you've heard this from more exciting folks than me, you are a great writer. Despite my sometimes-sloppy internet voice, and my inordinate and unnatural love of hyphens, I have an MA in writing, worked for years as a professional writer, and teach high-school English full-time at a toney private school (I've also taught college English, and public school). I knows me some good writin', and that-there's good stuff. I can't bear BikeSnob, for instance. Not because he's annoyingly annoyed at everything for no apparent reason other than it makes his blog popular, but because he's boring to read. I don't get why folks think he's funny. Your writing isn't as pretentious and show-offy, but you're easy to read, clear and thoughtful. I second Noglider's assertion that you combine technical, aesthetic and practical writing in a way that the average person can follow. After all, I'm average, and I follow you just fine...
No really, I think I speak for many folks here when I say that I find Lovely Bicycle! inspiring. You're the reason I'm sinking money into this danged hobby!
