Yesterday I rode in to work. Everyone seems to have checked out early; it was a pleasant ride in even though I got rained on lightly. Just as I was getting ready to leave work the sky turned black and it started raining. Yay? And it rained hard on me the whole way home. At least it was 70 F. I know what I'm spending my next REI dividend on: rain pants, a hat cover and shoe covers. Actually, I bet one of those cheap plastic shower caps will work over the hat. My stuff stayed surprisingly dry in my Basil panniers. I did stick my iPad in a plastic bag for added security though. Drivers were actually trying to avoid splashing me with puddles which was nice but didn't really make any difference. My jeans were soaked when I got home. And I'm still fighting something that's restricting my airways some. Nothing a week of vacation in a warm place won't fix. So I'ma do that!
