Thanks for the invitation to meet in the Berkshires. If I recall correctly, you considered riding the 2nd Annual BF Fifty-Plus Ride in the Finger Lakes out of Watkins Glen, which I did. It looks like a Third Annual Ride is taking shape, possibly in Michigan. See:

I travel frequently by car from Boston to Michigan via upstate NY, and other than the border crossings between the US and Canada and vice versa, it’s a nice drive.

I knew about the 3rd ride, my daughter wants to climb high peaks in the Adirondacks next summer - I don't think I'll be able to get away for a long trip to Michigan.
