Luckily a friend of mine got here last night and they have a Calfee with a Woundup disc on it and they've never had a problem so we're going to check out and see what's up. He does have the older Avid mount and it does appear to have more room - but we haven't really spent time looking at it closely.

I'm with Tandemgeek though - i'm thinking it's the fork.
