There isn't a clean way for a cassette joint hub like the Shimano Nexus/Alfine hubs. I end up using zip ties, some day I'll get braze-on cable guide. Some folks use the exsiting derailleur cable stops to route the Alfine/Nexus cable, maybe you can get that to work on your frame.
I wouldn't worry about cold setting the stays to 135mm, I've done it to high and low end frames with no issues. Maybe some of the super thin tubes sets are an issue, but not normal 531/Columbus/Vitus.
Instead of the hubbub, the Alfine/Nexus 8 speed can use the JTEK barend shifter.
