taken to the logical end, you're right, that would be bone-headed. But try to see it this way; the guy asked for 26 or 29er advice to sway his decision. Taking the car salesman analogy, I would say he came to the dealership and said, 'should I get the 2wd truck or the 4wd jeep'. In this case, we can assume certain things - follow-up questions can narrow and limit the answers, but if I own a Rubicon that I love for many reasons and think you can't go wrong with it - I'm recommending the jeep. I see both sides, but I suppose I just choose to be more friendly and not try to read too much in advice on forums. I take it for what it is worth and in the end make my own decision - weighing that N number of people on the internet forum who may/may not actually ride said this.
