The Elan was not the top of the line in the roadster category. Yours is likely of early to mid seventies vintage. You should be able to find a two digit number stamped into the rear hub.

Nice enough bike but not worth spending a great deal of money on, in my opinion. I have owned several but never really wanted to keep one. That comment is not a reflection on the bike. I just prefer road bikes.
