The Elan was a middleweight, touring, 3 speed model, produced 1973-1977. The model was reintroduced by Velo Sport following the 1983 bankruptcy of CCM. If it's olive green, it's one of the 1970s models. They were extremely popular with cyclists intimidated by derailleurs, particularly middle-aged and older people. CCM produced two other models that were virtually identical, except for colour and the presence of derailleurs, the 5 speed Elite in brown and the 10 speed Esprit in purple. CCM survived the mid-1970s on the sale of these three models and the Targa. They're ubiquitous in most of Canada. Please post pics and the serial number.
