no, seriously. one rod is for the front brakes and the other runs to a 3 speed gearbox in the Bottom Bracket.
@sailorbenjamin, I beleive its the same Adler who became Durkopp-Adler who made cars, sewing machines, bikes and mopeds (and was bombed back to the stone age during the war)
