I've never done it, but my understanding is that the headtube size is common to both so it will work. So there's a compelling argument for replacing the fork. OTOH, if your current headset is in good shape, fixing the existing fork, even if you have to get it re-pc'd, will be the cheaper route, as the other involves both a new fork and HS.
