+1 on the fork. A standard fork and headset will fit and then you can also use a generic 22.2mm stem vs. a 22.0 French stem. What length headtube do you need?
Thanks. Very valid point concerning the stem. That'll save a Technomic from the grinding wheel. I measured it last night. I need approximately 180mm of steerer tube.
