It'll look fine. Try to match the rake and axle-to-crown measurements as closely as possible to keep the handling the same. The universal fit forks with threads a long way down aren't as strong as regular forks due to the extra missing material but that is probably a nit. If it were me, I've give a quick try on fixing the old fork. Nothing to lose and it might just fall back into line easily.
